Choosing the right colour palette is the first step to a well-decorated room. This free colour palette generator uses proven colour theory — monochromatic, complementary, triadic, and more — to build harmonious schemes you can apply to any wall art or interior. Pick a base colour, select a harmony type, and adjust until every shade feels right. Export your palette as hex codes or a visual swatch card for your designer or printer. Works beautifully alongside our font pairing tool for quote art, and browse our wall art collections to see these palettes in context.

Colour Harmony Explained

Monochromatic
One hue with varying shades and tints. Elegant, cohesive, and easy to decorate with.
Analogous
Colours adjacent on the wheel (e.g. blue, teal, green). Natural and harmonious — great for nature-inspired art.
Complementary
Opposite colours on the wheel (e.g. gold and navy). High contrast, vibrant, and bold.
Split Complementary
A base colour plus two colours adjacent to its complement. More nuanced than full complementary.
Triadic
Three equally spaced colours (e.g. red, yellow, blue). Playful and energetic.
Tetradic
Four colours in two complementary pairs. Rich and varied — best with one dominant colour.
